THE VELDTWARDENS

The Veldtwardens are elite biome operatives—cold, calculating, and indispensable. Tasked with collapsing unstable Shardwakes, containing outbreaks, and recovering shard materials, they walk the razor’s edge between savior and destroyer. To frontier villages, they are revered as heroes who stand against horrors no one else dares face. To urban elites, they are respected but feared—grim harbingers of destruction whose arrival signals that something has gone terribly wrong. Among Shardkin, opinions fracture: some see allies, others see jailers or executioners.
Bound by the doctrine of “Contain. Control. Collapse,” the Veldtwardens reject worship of the Wakes and condemn exploitation of their power. They operate under a strict code of discipline, efficiency, and sacrifice, believing empathy is a liability in the war against corruption. Their organizational structure spans global High Command, Collapse Divisions, and Wakebound squads—each a cog in a relentless machine designed to keep the world intact. Where they tread, survival often comes at the cost of ruin.
